In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).
Have you had an experience in life that you considered a new beginning?

I have. I left my corporate job of twenty-one years and California and moved to the great state of Texas. I began again. I created a new life, but it wasn’t from nothing. It was from the ashes of my past life.
Some beginnings are good, some bad. A felon sentenced to prison has a new beginning, but not a good one. A wedding is a good new beginning for the bride and groom.
All of our beginnings are consequences of past actions.
God didn’t create that way. He spoke and out of nothing came everything. He began the universe out of his good pleasure and according to his sovereign will. I started my new beginning out of my desperation.
But, here’s the good news. The Sovereign God who spoke and created everything out of nothing says His mercies are new every morning.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

So, every morning I have a new beginning, granted to me by my merciful sovereign Creator.
Yesterday is done! Today, I begin again to live for Jesus. Those are good beginnings.
You are loved.
Oh yes.i’ m singing the song as I’m reading this. Great is His faithfulness 💌
