People have been warning about the war on families since the late 1970s.

God created families to be a warm safe place where we could be loved, nurtured, accepted and cared for. Sin made that difficult.

God created the first man and woman and told them to be fruitful and multiply. In other words he told them to have a family.

Our culture has now gone so far that it will not tolerate a Biblical worldview of the family. Unless, God intervenes in a drastic way, the family will fade from history.

The children are always the future. There are forces out after our children. For this current culture to achieve what it envisions it must convert the children.

The first thing that must happen is for our rights as parents to be severed. That is the government’s job. Through laws that are for children’s best interests and education in the public schools our children will be taken from us and indoctrinated.

Culture has already begun to redefine the family through the sexual revolution that has been gaining steam for years.

What can we do as Christian mothers do to protect our families?

Teach them about God.

Teach them the Gospel.

Teach them about prayer.

Teach them truth.

Keep them out of public school (if possible).

Monitor:

Their friends

TV and movies

Video games

Books

Phones

Don’t isolate them. Teach them about the culture they live in. Expose them gradually to it, explaining along the way how it differs from God’s word and the Biblical world view.

Don’t give in! Don’t give up! Don’t drop your guard!

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).

Does this sound a little overboard to you? Am I going to extremes? Those who know me will think I have gone a bit daft. Where does this come from?

I have been reading R. Albert Mohler Jr.’s new book The Gathering Storm and it has scared me to death. He backs up all that he says with facts, statics, and true stories. The sad thing is as I read, I recognized the world he is describing. It is here and now and I don’t like it.

Neither will you.
